Sydney to Melbourne
It was early to rise for a full on roadie all the way to Melbourne.
After a 11hr drive we finally made it to Melbourne, freshened up, had a few drinks, jumped on a tram and had a great night at Yah Yah's in Fitzroy. Then NINJA!
We said goodbye to the van!
The next day my little brother Euan took us to the centre of Melbourne. I met up with my friend Sofie and we all had a jug of Monteaths Larger at EFifty Five.
Melbourne trams a really cool!
Jared and I played at an open mic night at Berth Browns
We spent the next day riding around on the trams to different places
Here's Flinders Station
We checked out Ashes new pad
On our way home we stopped in at Souper Burger! YUM
Si and I enjoying our soup while our burgers are getting made up!
The wonderfully talented Tui Johnson let us stay at her lovely flat. She was working on getting pieces for her debut Melbourne exhibition which was on the 24th July. This is her Giant Squid inking a Nebula!
Never worry when you're with Whare! Our friend Simon and his two flatmates took us on an outing to Portsea. On our last night in Melbourne the clan gathered together and we all went to Lentil As Anything
We spent the next day drawing with Tui, this was an eye spy drawing game.
Simon very kindly drove us to the Airport through the whale rib tunnel past the giant chip. Thank you Si you are the BEST! xox We had the most amazing time in Australia catching up with old friends and making new ones! We can't wait to do it again very soon.
Hankey Bannister
We drove south until we got to South West Rocks. By that time it was dark, so we pulled up at a camping ground and got ourselves some Stones Ginger Wine and Hankey Bannister to celebrate the first night in our camper.
The next morning we visited the Trial Bay Gaol, we were told it was an excellent place to find kangaroos......the hunt was on!
We found a sign......
And some poos......
Our first Kangaroo!
We hit the road again after that, headed to Newcastle for a gig at Ocean View Hotel in Dudley
WIZARD!
We stopped for lunch at Black Butt Reserve in Newcastle.
We then made our way to Toby's place in Red Head, a friend we had made at the Song Summit. Toby had got us the gig at the Hotel in Dudley. This is his awesome collection of critters!
